Business Community Reaffirms Unwavering Solidarity with Kashmiri People on ‘Youm-e-Istehsal’ Mr. Atif Ikram Sheikh, President FPCCI

Karachi: Mr. Atif Ikram Sheikh, President FPCCI, has apprised that a high-profile national gathering marking the 7th Year of Military Siege in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu & Kashmir (IIOJK) on August 5, 2026, at FPCCI Head Office, Karachi; FPCCI President's Secretariat, Islamabad and other major cities across Pakistan.

Mr. Atif Ikram Sheikh highlighted that the high-profile gatherings brought together prominent industrialists, exporters, chamber presidents, trade association leaders, civic representatives, and Hurriyat leadership.

Mr. Atif Ikram Sheikh reaffirmed the business community’s national stance that the entire business community of Pakistan stands shoulder-to-shoulder with our Kashmiri brothers and sisters. Sustainable economic prosperity and peace in South Asia remain inextricably linked to the just resolution of the Jammu & Kashmir dispute in accordance with United Nations Security Council (UNSC) resolutions and the aspirations of the Kashmiri people and no degree of economic coercion or military oppression can suppress their legitimate right to self-determination, he added.

Mr. Saquib Fayyaz Magoon, SVP FPCCI, stressed the economic devastation and moral responsibility of the trade sector. As representatives of Pakistan’s trade and industrial sectors, we have a profound moral and diplomatic responsibility to amplify the voice of oppressed Kashmiris across international economic and trade forums, he added.

Mr. Asif Sakhi, VP FPCCI, stated that ongoing military siege has not only caused devastating human rights crises but has also systematically destroyed the indigenous economic fabric of IIOJK. Global commercial institutions and human rights bodies can no longer remain silent, he added.

Mr. Tariq Jadoon, VP FPCCI, emphasized regional unity across all chambers of commerce. Today’s gathering reflects the undivided solidarity of regional chambers and trade bodies across all provinces of Pakistan, he added.

Mr. Mansoor Sheikh, Chairman Town Municipal Corporation District South (TMC South), praised FPCCI’s role in uniting civic and business leadership. FPCCI has set a commendable example by uniting trade leaders, civic administration, and Hurriyat representatives on a single platform for this vital national cause. Local governments and civic bodies stand firmly with the business community and the nation in rejecting the illegal actions of August 5, 2019, and supporting our Kashmiri brethren, he added.
