(Karachi P.R. 8th March, 2017) President FPCCI Zubair F.Tufail along with two other prominent members has left for London to attend Commonwealth Trade Ministers Meeting which will be held on 9-10 March 2017.
Zubair Tufail will also sign strategic partnership agreement with Commonwealth Enterprise and Investment Council (CWEIC) during the visit.
Commonwealth countries account for 17 percent of world GDP, 30 percent of world population (2.1 Billion), 25 percent of international trade and 40 percent of WTO membership. Commonwealth organization – a family of the peoples of 52 nations including 3 inter-governmental organizations (the CW Secretariat, the CW Federation and the CW of Leasing) and network of more than 80 association and societies is responsible to serve for improving peoples lives.
Commonwealth member countries share 14 persent in Pakistan imports and 21 percent of pakistan’s exports go to the commonwealth while shares 11 percent in Pakistan FDI inflow.
The agenda of the Commonwealth Trade Ministers meeting for 2017 is Creating an Export Economy Roundtable, Access to Markets, Export Diversification, SMEs and Enterprise Development, Discussion on Trade Finance and Export Credit Guarantees, discussion on opportunity to grow the financial services sector across the Commonwealth, Discussion on insurance, small states banking, finetech and financial innovation,
All Ministers for Trade of Commonwealth will participate in the meetings. Pakistan will be represented by Secretary Commerce along with president FPCCI Mr. Zubair Tufail, while other members of delegation includes Mr.Faisal Jamal Dashti, immediate past Vice President and Mr. Mehmodd Arshad.
