(Karachi P.R. 29th Nov, 2016) Shaikh Khalid Tawab, Sr. Vice President of the Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI) congratulated Lieutenant-General Qamar Javed Bajwa on his appointment as the new Chief of Army Staff (COAS) and General Zubair Hayat as Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee and assuming new responsibilities.
In a statement, the SVP FPCCI said that the entire nation and the Business Community is with the new leadership of the army and wish them good luck. He hoped that the newly appointed COAS would definitely carry his predecessor’s (General Sharif’s) legacy forward to wipe out terrorism and the mission to restore peace in Karachi and combating the challenges from India.
The SVP of FPCCI elaborated that clearly, in his new post Bajwa would have his plate full, from the border tension with India and escalating violence in Afghanistan to the increasing networking among home grown armed war lords, beside the implications of a Donald Trump led US administration. However, the SVP expressed his full confidence that New Army Chief would come out gracefully and honorably from these crisis and would raise the image of the armed forces like General Raheel Sharif, play a leading role in accelerating the image of Pakistan and bringing peace, sustainability and stability in the country, a pre-requisite for the economic development of the country.
The SVP FPCCI assured his full cooperation and support to the newly appointed COAS and Joint Chief of Staff in addressing the pressing internal as well as external challenges and treats.
