(Karachi P.R. 3rd Nov, 2016) Sheikh Khalid Tawab (S.I), Senior Vice President (SVP), Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce & Industry (FPCCI) has welcomed the decision of Imran Khan, Chairman of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) to call-off his party’s proposed protest plan of lock-down of Islamabad from November 2, 2016 to indefinite period as it would have impacted adversely on economic activities in general and the on-going mega projects like China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) and energy projects in particular.
The SVP of FPCCI said that the decision is neither the victory of opposition nor the defeat of the government but only the victory of Pakistan as confidence and trust has been shown on reliance of institutions of Pakistan for democracy, peace and rule of law and supremacy of constitution.
He referring to the friends of Pakistan, such as China; Turkey; Iran etc., who have shown concern over political stability in the country elaborated that the decision would dispel the apprehension of the world community and wrong signals being sent to them about the writ of the government, law & order, anarchy and civil war like situations and said that it now would send a positive message about the integrity of the nation which stands together and undivided.
