The leaders of United Business Group (UBG) have said that the UBG under the leadership of S M Muneer and Iftekhar Ali Malik has closed the door on people who wanted to take over helm of affairs of the Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI) from the backdoor as these elements had damaged the interests of businessmen and industrialists in the past. They said that so-called business leaders form BMP are worried due to consecutive success in getting approval of zero-rate for five export-oriented sectors and tax refund claims and reduction in electricity rate by Rs 3 per unit and they are actively playing role to speed up economy of the country and betterment of business community; resultantly industrialists and almost all trade bodies have reposed their confidence into the FPCCI and leadership of UBG.

They said that the 4rth FPCCI Achievement Awards has received wide publicity due to aggressive efforts of FPCCI president Rauf Alam, senior vice president Sheikh Khalid Tawab and vice presidents HanifGohar, Arshad Farooq, Zulfiqar Sheikh and other vice presidents of the organization. Those people, who are acting against businessmen and the federation, are not happy with the speedy economic recovery of the country neither they are friends of business community.

They said that all businessmen and industrialists are appreciating present leadership of the FPCCI as they are giving special attention towards resolving problems regarding textile, leather, construction, rice, electricity and gas. But, they said, the anti-businessmen group is trying to save their skin by hurling false allegations against present leadership of the FPCCI.

They said that the FPCCI could achieve many successes during a short period of four months and we are grateful to whole business community for their active support. The FPCCI, keeping in mind interests of business community, has sent budget proposals to the federal government; they said adding that all inactive standing committees have been made active. The government has accepted proposals of the FPCCI of zero-rate for five export-oriented sectors and tax refund and the implementation on these proposals will begin from the next month.
